My literary journey has recently been infused with newfound excitement, thanks to the delightful discoveries of BookTok and Bookstagram. As a result, my To Be Read list has grown exponentially, expanding my literary horizons in ways I never thought possible.

In the delightful realm of literature, I have found joy in embracing various formats of storytelling. While audiobooks have been my faithful companions in recent years, I have joyfully rediscovered the simple pleasure of holding a printed book in my hands, whether in the form of an e-book or a physical copy. There is something truly magical about the tactile experience of turning the pages, immersing myself in the author’s world, and letting the story unfold before me.

One of my cherished moments is when I can settle into a cozy recliner, snugly wrapped in a soft blanket, and lose myself in the pages of a captivating book. The world around me fades away as I embark on literary adventures, and for those precious moments, there is nothing more gratifying than being transported to different worlds and time periods through the magic of storytelling.

My other hobbies include watching lots of shows on different streaming platforms and re-watching the shows I loved when I was younger. I enjoy keeping a digital journal on my iPad and doing photography. I’m also into astrology. I keep telling myself I’ll start a podcast about books, but I need to figure out if I have time for it.

The realm of romance is like a bottomless pit of enchantment, with a gazillion subgenres just waiting to sweep you off your feet. Ever since the 2020 pandemic hit, I’ve been seeking refuge in the spellbinding universe of romance novels. From heart-racing love sagas to feel-good stories of second chances, the romance genre has whisked me away to worlds where passion and emotion rule the roost. What’s truly mind-boggling is the sheer variety within the genre – from old-timey romance to supernatural love tales, there’s something to tickle the fancy of every reader.

However, my literary journey doesn’t stop there. Alongside my cherished romance novels, I find myself drawn to the magnetic pull of mystery – like seriously, who doesn’t love a good whodunit, the adrenaline rush of thrilling plots that make my heart race faster than a caffeinated hummingbird, the wondrous realms of fantasy where I can live out my dreams of being a majestic dragon rider, the poignant experiences of young adult fiction that make me nostalgic for my acne-ridden, angst-filled teenage years, and the captivating insights offered by nonfiction biography – because let’s be real, sometimes truth is stranger than fiction. Each genre offers a unique opportunity to immerse myself in diverse worlds full of drama, uncover compelling mysteries (seriously, where are my car keys?), and empathize with a rich tapestry of characters who are probably more put together than I am. It’s a testament to the power of storytelling that transcends genre boundaries and speaks to the universal nature of human experiences – and honestly, who doesn’t love a good story?

As I reflect on my reading preferences, I realize that the allure of literature knows no bounds, and my appetite for captivating narratives continues to expand. Whether it’s unraveling enigmatic puzzles, traversing mythical landscapes, or delving into the remarkable lives of real people, the world of books never fails to inspire and captivate. As I eagerly anticipate the next adventure between the pages, I cherish the multitude of genres that enrich my reading journey and broaden my horizons in unexpected ways.
